Deep-ribbed stainless steel profiles that span between beams as the structural deck of a roof, or act as permanent formwork and reinforcement for a concrete floor. Stainless deck is a niche product, used where carbon steel deck would corrode: offshore and marine structures, wastewater and chemical plants, food plants, and exposed coastal walkways.

Overview
Decking is a cold roll-formed profile with deep ribs that give it enough stiffness to span between purlins or beams. As roof deck it carries insulation and a membrane or a second skin; as composite floor deck it is laid on the beams, concrete is poured on top, and the embossments on the ribs make deck and slab work together, so the deck serves as formwork and bottom reinforcement.
Carbon steel deck is galvanised, which is enough in most buildings but not in permanently wet, chloride-laden or chemical environments, where the underside cannot be inspected or repainted. Stainless deck removes that maintenance. It is designed with the cold-formed and stainless rules of EN 1993-1-3 and EN 1993-1-4 (and EN 1994 for composite action), using the stainless steel's own properties.
Because the market is small, stainless deck is usually rolled to order by roll-formers who make carbon steel deck, from 316L or duplex coil. In the GCC it appears mainly in offshore, marine and process-plant structures.
