Stainless steel sheet roll-formed into sinusoidal corrugations or trapezoidal ribs, or into standing-seam roofing trays. It is used for roofs and walls that must last without paint in corrosive atmospheres — chemical and fertiliser plants, coastal buildings, animal houses, cold stores — and for architectural roofs where the metal itself is the finish.

Overview
Corrugated and profiled stainless sheets are roll-formed from cold-rolled coil, usually 0.5–0.8 mm thick, with a 2B, matt-rolled or embossed finish that limits glare. The profile gives the thin sheet its stiffness: shallow sinusoidal corrugations for walls and small roofs, deeper trapezoidal ribs for longer spans, and standing-seam trays, folded together on site, for architectural roofs.
Stainless roofing is chosen for its life rather than its first cost: it needs no coating, does not chalk or fade, resists most industrial atmospheres and is fully recyclable. Molybdenum grades (316 / 1.4401 / 1.4404) or the more resistant ferritic grades are used near the sea and in chemical plants; 304 is suitable for inland, unpolluted sites. Fixings must be stainless as well, and contact with copper run-off or carbon steel swarf from cutting must be avoided.
In the GCC stainless profiled sheet is used mainly in industrial and coastal plant — desalination, fertiliser and chemical plants — and for feature roofs on airports, mosques and public buildings. It is roll-formed locally from imported coil or imported as finished profiles.
Forms & sizes
Profiled sheet is ordered by profile (manufacturer's reference or drawing), thickness, grade, finish and cut lengths.
Sinusoidal
Classic corrugation, about 18 mm or 27 mm deep, for walls and small roofs
Trapezoidal
Ribs about 20–60 mm deep for roofs and walls on purlins
Standing seam
Site-seamed trays for architectural roofs and façades
Finish
2B, matt-rolled, embossed or tinned (terne-coated) for low reflection
