ABS Sisak modernizes EAF operations

ABS Sisak, a Croatia-based steelmaker, has successfully installed the EBT-SAND tap hole inspection and sand filler system in its 67-ton Electric Arc Furnace (EAF).

The EBT-SAND system, part of the ZERO MEN AROUND technological package, offers an all-in-one solution for tap hole maintenance. It includes functions for sand filling, slag breaking, and remote visual inspection, ensuring precision and safety. The system uses a compact bin filled with the exact amount of sand by a stationary dispenser located near the furnace.

Designed for heavy-duty operations, the EBT-SAND system also features automated image control and recording, providing efficient, reliable, and safe furnace maintenance. With an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons, ABS Sisak specializes in high-quality steel grades for industries including power generation, automotive, oil and gas, and railways.
