Stainless plate weights by thickness and plate size

Standard: EN 10088-2 · ASTM A240 · calculated masses

Masses are calculated for austenitic stainless steel (304L, 316L) at 7.93 kg/dm³. Duplex 2205 is about 1.6% lighter (7.80 kg/dm³) and ferritic or martensitic grades about 3% lighter (7.70 kg/dm³).

Plate is usually invoiced on theoretical weight at nominal thickness or on actual weight — agree which. Thickness tolerance on the plus side can add several percent to the actual weight of heavy plate.
