Stainless equal angles: sizes and mass per metre

Standard: EN 10056-1 / JIS G4317 (sizes) · ASTM A276 / A1069 · calculated masses

Sizes follow the series of equal angles in EN 10056-1 and JIS G4317. EN 10056-1 itself is written for carbon steel and excludes stainless, but stainless angles are rolled and laser-fused to the same nominal sizes. The area and mass are calculated for a sharp-cornered section, A = t × (2b − t), which is exact for laser-fused angles and for angles cut and welded from plate. Hot-rolled angles carry a root radius inside the corner and weigh 1–4% more than the figure shown, depending on the size; the mill’s own table gives the exact value.

Masses are for austenitic stainless steel (304, 316) at 7.93 kg/dm³.
