Standard: EN 10051 formerly DIN 1016
EN 10051 sets the tolerances on dimensions and shape for continuously hot-rolled, uncoated plate, sheet and wide strip of non-alloy and alloy steels, up to 25 mm thick. It replaced DIN 1016 and the older Euronorm 48; the steel grade itself is ordered to a separate standard such as EN 10111, EN 10025-2 or EN 10149-2.
The thickness tolerances below are for steel category A — steels with a specified minimum yield strength up to 300 MPa, which covers the usual forming and S235/S275 grades. Higher-strength categories (B, C and D) have wider thickness tolerances, given in the standard as an increase over category A.
