Finished steel imports surge in Q1 2025

Pakistan imported 328,497 tons of finished steel in March 2025, a 27.25pct increase YoY from 258,141 tons in March 2024, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

However, imports edged down slightly by 0.5pct compared to February 2025.

For the first quarter of 2025, total finished steel imports rose sharply by 48pct YoY, reaching 989,546 tons.
