Aisha Steel Mills boosts profit in Jul-Sep 2026

Aisha Steel Mills Limited (ASML) reported a profit after tax of PKR 336 mln (USD 1.21 mln) in the July-September quarter of fiscal 2026-27, up from PKR 82 mln in the same period last year.

Revenue nearly doubled YoY to PKR 18.04 bln (USD 65.1 mln) from PKR 9.46 bln, while gross profit increased to PKR 1.94 bln (USD 6.99 mln) from PKR 922 mln. Finance costs declined to PKR 485 mln (USD 1.75 mln) from PKR 525 mln.

The company produced 90,140 tons of steel during the quarter, up 82pct YoY, while sales rose by 85pct to 80,053 tons. Exports increased to 8,634 tons from 5,856 tons a year earlier.

ASML attributed the improved financial performance to higher sales volumes, better gross margins and lower finance costs. It reported stronger demand for cold rolled and galvanized steel from the automotive and white goods sectors, as well as improving demand from general engineering applications.

The company also noted that local producers were gradually regaining market share following the end of the sales-tax exemption on imports from FATA/PATA, which became subject to 12pct sales tax from FY26. In addition, Pakistan’s National Tariff Commission extended anti-dumping duties of up to 19.04pct on Chinese CRC imports in March and expanded the scope of measures covering galvanized steel products, supporting domestic producers amid competition from imports.

Aisha Steel Mills, part of Pakistan's Arif Habib Group, operates a cold rolling and hot-dip galvanized steel complex with annual production capacity of around 700,000 tons.
