Ezz Steel renews scrap management contract with Harsco
Egypt's Ezz Steel, through its subsidiary EZS in Sadat City, has renewed a 10-year contract with Harsco Environmental for furnace and scrap management services at the steelmaking facility.
Under the agreement, Harsco Environmental will provide services covering the plant's electric arc furnace, billet caster and two rolling mills, supporting operational efficiency, material recovery and environmental performance.
Harsco Environmental said the renewal strengthens its long-standing relationship with Ezz Steel. The company also provides services to Ezz Steel's EZDK facility in Alexandria and EFS plant in Sokhna, making this one of three service contracts it holds with the Egyptian steelmaker.
EZS has an annual rebar production capacity of around 1 mln tons. Ezz Steel operates four fully integrated steelmaking plants in Egypt with a combined production capacity of 7 mln tons of flat and long steel products annually.
