Demand comes from construction, infrastructure and the energy sector. Almost all of the companies listed here are in Doha.

Who sets steel standards in Qatar, and how products are certified.
Qatar’s standards body is the General Organization for Standardization. Product certification is by a certificate of conformity from the manufacturer.
As a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Qatar works with the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO). GSO’s current Gulf standards for reinforcing bars include GSO ASTM A615/A615M:2023 and GSO ISO 6935-2:2022 (ribbed bars).
