Tenaris wins tubular supply contracts for Cronos gas project

Tenaris has been awarded contracts to supply OCTG, line pipe and coating services for the Cronos gas development offshore Cyprus, operated by Eni in partnership with TotalEnergies.

The project, located in Cyprus's Block 6, will use existing regional infrastructure to transport gas to Egypt for processing and liquefaction at the Damietta LNG plant. Production is scheduled to start in the first half of 2028.

Tenaris will supply seamless pipes for a 110-km gas export pipeline and a monoethylene glycol pipeline. The pipes will be manufactured at the company's Dalmine mill in Italy and supplied with buckle arrestors and three-layer polypropylene anticorrosion coating.

The company will also supply the project's tubular requirements for offshore drilling, including pipes using its Dopeless coating technology.

Cronos is estimated to hold more than 3 trillion cubic feet, or 85 bln cubic metres, of gas. Production is expected to reach approximately 500 mln standard cubic feet per day, or 14.2 mln cubic metres.

The project will be Cyprus's first hydrocarbon development and is expected to support the country's emergence as a natural gas producer and exporter.

Tenaris is a global manufacturer of seamless and welded steel pipe products for the energy industry. The company operates an integrated industrial network with manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, supplying OCTG, line pipe and premium tubular solutions to oil and gas producers worldwide.
