Jindal Stainless subsidiary commissions powder coating facility in Haryana

Jindal Stainless subsidiary Jindal Lifestyle has commissioned a powder coating facility at its Pathredi plant in Gurugram, Haryana, expanding its range of finished stainless steel products.

The facility has an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons and adds powder coating as a surface finishing option. Powder coating applies a dry coating to metal surfaces, providing improved durability, protection and appearance for products used in metro rail systems, automotive, infrastructure, medical equipment and other industrial applications.

The new automated facility uses a conveyor-based process with spray technology and advanced pre-treatment systems, allowing it to process components of varying sizes.

The expanded capabilities will support Jindal Lifestyle's existing portfolio for metro rail and luggage handling systems, including handrails, car body components, electrical cabinets and battery boxes.

Jindal Lifestyle said the investment will broaden its range of finishing solutions and strengthen its ability to supply products requiring improved surface quality, durability and appearance.

Jindal Stainless, India's largest stainless steel producer, has an annual melt capacity of 4.2 mln tons. The company operates 16 manufacturing and processing facilities across India, Spain, and Indonesia, along with a global network spanning 12 countries. Its product portfolio includes slabs, coils, plates, sheets, precision strips, blade steel, and coin blanks.
