Hoa Phat expands galvanized steel exports to Japan

Hoa Phat Steel Sheet Co. has exported around 8,000 tons of galvanized steel coils to Japan in the fourth quarter of 2026, marking the company's entry into the Japanese market.

The shipment complies with Japan's JIS G 3302 standard and includes products with spangle-free coating surfaces and Chromium 3+ or chromium-free surface treatment.

Hoa Phat Steel Sheet received JIS certification earlier this year for its cold-rolled, galvanized, aluminum-zinc alloy-coated and color-coated steel products, allowing the company to expand sales in markets with strict quality requirements.

The company has a design capacity of 600,000 tons per year and produces pickled, cold-rolled, galvanized, aluminum-zinc alloy-coated and color-coated steel coils.

In the first nine months of 2026, Hoa Phat Steel Sheet sold 307,000 tons of steel products, with exports accounting for 29.8pct of total sales. The company's products have reached 29 countries and territories.

Hoa Phat Group is one of Vietnam's leading industrial manufacturers, with steel as its core business. By the end of 2026, its crude steel production capacity is expected to reach 16 mln tons per year, ranking first in Southeast Asia and placing it among the top steelmakers globally.
