Cemtas temporarily suspends production for plant upgrade
Turkish steel producer Cemtas will temporarily suspend production at its steelmaking and rolling mill units from November 2 to November 11 to commission its Precision Gauge Rolling System investment.
The planned shutdown will last for eight working days and is part of an investment programme previously announced by the company in August 2025.
Cemtas said the temporary stoppage is not expected to affect its sales or balance bar production activities, with production scheduled to resume on November 11.
The company added that the shutdown is not expected to have a material impact on its overall production or business continuity.
Established in 1970, Cemtas specializes in manufacturing and supplying various steel types, including bearing steel, free-cutting steel, spring steel, and tool steel. The company operates a melt shop with an annual production capacity of 193,204 tons and a rolling mill with an annual production capacity of 207,360 tons.
