Who sets standards in Japan, and the JIS standards for reinforcing and structural steel.
The Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC) is Japan’s national standards body. The JIS mark is voluntary: certification bodies accredited by the government test products and audit factories before a maker may use it.
JIS G 3112 covers hot-rolled round and deformed bars for concrete reinforcement, and JIS G 3101 (2024 edition) rolled steels for general structures.
