Kocaer Haddecilik expands product range

Turkish Kocaer Haddecilik, who claims to be the sole producer and patent
owner of windows section F2, F3A and F7D product world wide, added early
2003, angles 110, 120, 130mm as well as UPN + IPN 140-160mm to it's size
range. This allows Kocaer now to offer angles 25-130 mm , UPN 40 - 160 , IPN 80 - 160 , T bars 25 - 40mm and window section F2-F3A and F7D, to the local and international markets. |

Eregli increases tinplate production

Turkish Eregli Demir Celik (Erdemir) has increased capacity of it's tinplate line
from about 850t/day 2 years back, to about 950t/day at present. |

Has Celik doubles steel wire rope production.

Has Celik and Halat Sanayi Ticaret A.S.,one of the larger steel wire rope
suppliers in Europe, installed new wire drawing, torsion and patent lines
worth US$5 million, to double their capacity from 5 KT, to 10 KT of steel
wire rope per year. Has Celik produces ropes in diameters 6 - 60 mm in two separate plants. Has Celik located in Kayseri, exports to Middle East, North Africa, EU nations and USA. |

Borcelik testing galvanizing production

Turkey's Borcelik Celik is now testing and planning to start its 350,000
tpy commercial galvanizing production line by this fall. The project is part of an overall $140m investment package, which includes installing a 350,000 tpy 6-high cold rolling reversing mill to start production from April-May 2004. The new project will double its current cold rolling capacity. By the year 2005, the company targets to have expanded and reconfigured its capacity: 350,000 tpy for cold rolled annealing, 50,000 tpy for work-hardened condition, 350,000 tpy for galvanized coils, and up to 150,000 tpy for pickled and oiled steel coils. |

Canada investigates anti - dumping on Turkish Hollow Sections.
|

|
Canadian tube manufacturers Copper weld, Atlas Tube, and Welded Tube,
asked the Canadian Customs and Revenue dept, to start an anti-dumping
investigation on hollow section imports from Turkey. Reports are estimated to take about 3 months to be prepared. |

Izmir rebars exports increasing
|
||
|
Izmir Demir Çelik hopes to achieve production of 600KT of rebars in
2003(up from 2002 - 565KT). Most of Izdemir rebar production is exported , especially to the Far East and the Arabian Gulf where strong project demand is likely to continue. |
